Global Experiences participants are expected to respect the local people and customs of the host country in which they are living. Participants are subject to local laws, standards of living, and all that comes with living in a foreign country. Participants may also be subject to the rules and regulations set forth by the host institution of your program, family homestay or otherwise. Please review the following information to better understand the conduct that is expected of all Global Experiences program participants.
Participant Responsibility

Participants are responsible for understanding issues related to the legal, cultural, safety, health, political, and religious issues of their host country. Participants are responsible for themselves while traveling abroad and are expected to respect local people, customs, property, laws, and all other aspects of life in the host country.
Security

It is not possible for Global Experiences or its partners to be responsible for the participant's security while abroad. Each participant is responsibile for one's own safety and therefore should be constantly aware of their environment and the situations they put themselves in. Any activity which endangers oneself or another participant in a Global Experiences program is unacceptable and that student may be asked to leave the program with no refund at the sole discretion of Global Experiences. Please email us should you have any questions relating to safety/security issues.
Drugs and Alcohol

Again, while traveling in a foreign country, participants are subject to local law and therefore it is important to understand this when considering the consumption of alcohol and/or drugs. Participants are responsible for themselves and agree to represent themselves and Global Experiences in a mature and acceptable manner. Most countries outside of the US have a minimum drinking age of 18. Of course, we realize for those participants under 21 (the legal drinking age in the US) may want to take advantage of this fact. Of course, Global Experiences can not prevent you from doing so but we do encourage you to be mindful of your environment and to be responsible when making decisions regarding the consumption of alcohol. Global Experiences does not tolerate any involvement, be it sales or possession, of any illegal substances. Should Global Experiences or its partners learn of such activity, those participants will be expelled from the program and no refund will be provided.
Program Course Attendance (where applicable)

Participants may be asked to leave a program for an infraction of the above mentioned policies and/or due to the lack of attendance or deficient performance in program coursework, which also includes language training. It is essential to attend all language classes to keep up with the group but also to be best prepared for an internship (where applicable), other program component, or simply living in the host country. If deemed by Global Experiences or its partners that a participant has failed to attend courses in accordance with their program requirements, Global Experiences, at its sole discretion may dismiss the participant from the program with no refund available. Further, if it is determined that a student cannot complete a program component for failing to complete requisite coursework or if a participant decides not to complete a program for any reason but has clearly not attended all program courses or other components, no refunds will be available.
Participants are not to travel to a country outside of the Program country during the course of the Program. The Company can not be held responsible for any damage, loss, theft, injury or any such problems encountered outside of the Program country.
