Does your university offer academic internship credit for your degree? If they do and you’re seeking credit for your internship, you’re all set! Work with your GE adviser and university academic adviser to confirm exactly what is required for your assessment of your internship. This might include an approval form, supervision evaluation or other materials. Be aware that this may involve a tuition fee paid to your university. You must make arrangements for credit at time of application and before you arrive to your program location.

Faculty Leader

If you’re participating in a customized faculty-led program through your university, you will have a faculty leader monitoring your internship either on-site or remotely. That faculty leader will assess your performance and also issue a grade for your course. Any issues with your coursework on-site should be related to both your faculty leader and your GE location coordinator.

No Credit

If you don’t need to be earning academic credit to participate in the program. Many participants enroll in a GE internship without receiving credit. Please note that any decisions on whether or not an experience is credit-bearing MUST be made prior to departure. It is often very challenging to secure academic credit upon return if not agreed upon beforehand.
