It is important that all program participants understand the terms of their accommodations so please review the following information.

Firstly, accommodations are like fingerprints wherein no two are the same. We can virtually guarantee you will not find accommodations to be the same as what you have come to expect back home. There are cultural differences, some buildings are hundreds of years old (Florence or Rome for example), air conditioning is unusual, some may have washer/dryer's while others do not, some may be a short walk from your program location while others may be 25 minutes by bus. The point is all accommodations are different. The important thing to remember is you are visiting a foreign country and you will be subject to the standard of living that is common in that location. You will not be staying at the Ritz Carlton. Most accommodations are in shared apartments with other participants, homestays, or in studio apartments. Most programs include accommodations in a shared apartment but other options are available for an increased fee so be sure to inquire with our program coordinators for your respective location to understand these options.

Global Experiences does not directly provide nor profit from the accommodations offered through its overseas partners or affiliates for its programs and therefore, Global Experiences assumes no responsibility for any issues that may arise with respect to participant's accommodation once the program has begun. Please be sure to review all information regarding the accommodations as it relates to your program and location, and discuss what is included in your program fees in detail with the respective program coordinator for that program.

All participants are responsible for understanding all aspects of their accommodations, including proximity to their program location, ammenities in the accommodations, roomate situations, and all other relevant details so be sure you have a clear understanding of these issues prior to arriving in your host country and/or forming any pre-conceived expectations. One participant may perceive one accommodations to be great while another may think it is problematic so it is important to understand as much as you can in order to form realistic expectations upon taking residence in the accommodations.

It is also important to understand that accommodation is for the participant only and it is not possible to have friends, family or others stay with you unless you have received express written permission from Global Experiences and the landlord of the accommodations. Further, in light of having roomates to consider, the fact that each landlord has its own rules for their premises, and the security risks associated, entertaining guests in the accommodations is not permitted.

Any complaints or concerns regarding accommodation must be addressed with the accommodations coordinator in the host country location for the participant's program. We will provide contact details for this coordinator upon request so each participant has a point of contact for any issues relating to accommodation. This includes issues relating to proximity to your program locations, the quality of the accommodations, issues relating to roommates, cleanliness or any other issue as it relates to the accommodation.

According the terms of all programs provided by Global Experiences, the program fees paid by participant includes accommodation in either a shared apartment or homestay (depending on the program) within a reasonable distance (typically no more than 45 minutes by public transportation) from the school, intern placement company or other program component location. For Australia programs, the distance to your program location varies and, for any program, no guarantees are provided for the location of participant's accommodations. Participants are responsible for any costs incurred for transportation between the accommodation and the program locations, including fare for buses, taxis, trains or any other transportation costs. Other accommodations are available for an increased fee and Global Experiences is happy to help facilitate those upgrades, however, Global Experiences assumes no responsibility for the location, the condition or the security of the accommodations and all such concerns or complaints must be directly addressed through the accommodations coordinator in the program location, typically through our program partner schools.

Global Experiences cannot guarantee the location of accommodations nor does it guarantee any amenities that may or may not be included in the accommodations. Global Experiences will make every effort to secure the address of participant's accommodation at least two weeks out from the start date of a program, however, this cannot always be guaranteed as the logistics of organizing accommodations for many participants can be a challenge. Like each participant, Global Experiences is at the mercy of the accommodations coordinator in the host country with respect to learning this information and facilitating the best option for accommodation according to the needs and program devised for each participant. Participant acknowledges and agrees to all terms, conditions, and other information regarding accommodations contained herein and in our Terms and Conditions.

More specific information regarding accommodations can be found on the program pages describing the details of each respective program. Each participant is responsible for understanding the policies as set forth herein and as they relate specifically to the location of your program.
